Rilevando i campi magnetici, le anguille migrano verso il Mar dei Sargassi per riprodursi. Abbandonano i fiumi e nuotano verso l'oceano per raggiungere quello che gli scienziati chiamano ”l'obiettivo della loro vita”, dopo il quale muoiono. I piccoli tornano poi a nuotare verso i fiumi che distano migliaia di chilometri. Ogni anguilla viaggia al proprio ritmo, arrivando prima, durante o dopo la primavera. L'ultimo viaggio è solitario, mentre i nuovi nati tornano ai fiumi insieme ad altri e lì condividono la vita. La versione in libro di quest'opera, che è stata esposta in più occasioni, intreccia diverse sue ramificazioni: vedute dell'installazione, immagini dello studio che gli artisti condividevano a Milano, fotografie delle sculture e sculture ricavate da fotografie. Il libro documenta anche la sua stessa nascita, con immagini del muro utilizzato per lavorare alla sua sequenza e interviste condotte dagli artisti tra loro. Il libro stesso, come una ciotola piena di zuppa di anguille, sfida la nostra facoltà di distinguere le cose l'una dall'altra, siano esse persone, opere d'arte o altre forme di vita.

By detecting magnetic fields, eels migrate to the Sargasso Sea to reproduce. They leave rivers behind and swim towards the Ocean to meet what scientists call ”their life’s goal”, after which they die. The offspring will then swim back to the rivers, which are thousands of kilometres away. Each eel travels at its own pace, arriving before, during or after spring. Their last journey is a lonely one, whereas new-borns will make their way back to the rivers along with others, and there they will share a life together. The book version of this work, which has been exhibited on multiple occasions, weaves together several of its ramifications: installation views, images of the studio the artists shared in Milan, photographs of the sculptures and sculptures made out of photographs. The book also documents its own coming into existence by featuring images of the wall that was used to work on its sequencing, as well as interviews the artists conducted with one another. The book itself, like a bowl full of eel soup, challenges our faculty of telling things apart from each other, be they people, artworks or other forms of life.
